DIY HAIR SECRETS

As you may know, the chemical dye messes up your hair. I will start by explaining you why.The chemical dye are involded in the capillary structure, chemicals open the hair scales in order to make penetrate the the pigments. (picture here) A lot of applications turns the hair scales difficult to close and therefore the hair becomes increasingly sensitive to external aggressions. The hair is worn ,dry, lose their luster, forked and break.
However, this is how the natural dye work. Hence the brilliance of the hair. These dye make the hair thicker, stronger and more beautiful.
How to lighten the hair naturally? A friend of mine have already tested a mask with honey and lemon and she loved it. It seems that chamomile and cinnamon also help.
To darken the hair we recommend the walnut powder and black tea.
You've probably heard of henna? You know, the product that is supposed to turn your hair orange? Henna is a plant very effective if you want to turn your hair lighter / blacker / red. You can use the Ayurvedic powders such as Bhringaraj to darken your hair. However, I do not recommend buying these powders on Aromazone because from experience I can tell you they are not terrible ... If you want to make a henna after a chemical dye it is advisable to wait between 2/3 months in order not to have "green" hair. (You can always test it on a forelock before all applications!). I also recommend Khadi hair dye, because I've heard / read a lot of good of it. This brand offers a wide choice of colors.
Be careful when you buy your henna that it does not contain metal salts, nicknamed "sodium picramate" a product used in the "fake henna" that may give you huge itching. Be sure to find a henna of quality. I obviously did not test all the henna but the black henna that I prefer comes from Lush.In order to learn more, here's a link to the henna bible.

DIY HAIR SECRETS

This is an article that I was asked to for. Some of you dream of spacing their shampoos therefore they adopt the No Poo Do routine The trick is is very useful especially when you are in your hair transition, but it can even be useful in your life of every day especially if you have bangs or if you have not found the time to wash your hair . You have obviously already heard about the dry shampoo? It can be found in supermarkets and more generally in the form of spray.
If you start doubting of all your hair products> you are on the right way, hehe! Indeed, if you take a look at the back of your bottle, you can see the INCI list; you can read great things like "isobutane" (commonly used as a refrigerant), the "propane" (derived from petroleum products ), butane, the alcohol 40-B (especially used in household cleaners) ... Anyway! full of good things that makes you hungy! So if you still want to use your dry shampoo without the feeling of being a Citroën I offer you some natural methods perfect for people you are on budget !
You can use talc, cornstarch, white clay powder or even baking soda as a dry shampoo. You can make mixtures if you prefer. Pour the powder into a salt shaker or apply it with a kabuki brush, it's up to you! For Brown-haired : add to it some cocoa tablespoons to darken the powder ... These powders will absorb sebum, and once on your scalp, leave it on 5/10 minutes, then tilt your head down to brush / remove residues. > Your hair are now voluminouss and clean anew.

The No-Poo method could simply be reduced to the old way of washing the hair, I explained it briefly a few days ago: washing the hair with baking soda and rinsing with a little bit of vinegar. This technique works ,it is proved. But not everyone has the same type of hair, the most curly hair are most vulnerable to the drought and to breakage . As it is a product that everyone can have easyly , I advise you to test it , at least to start your periode of transition. This is what I did while waiting waiting for making an order on a website that is now one of my favorites.
This wensite is called Chagrin Valley (well I agree, the name is a bit odd haha!) This website gives the possibility of buy a range of 100% natural products: Creams, bath products, products for children, products for foot, for the hair, for the face, for the body etc.. I insist on the fact that they are completely natural products. « Chagrin Valley natural hair care products contain nature's plant oils and butters, pure essential oils and organic botanical infusions, which are easily absorbed, moisturizing and nourishing to your hair and scalp. Nothing artificial, nothing synthetic, just wholesome natural ingredients. Indulge your hair with natural shampoos, hair conditioners and hair rinses and enjoy fabulous healthy hair!”Their shampoo bars are made on the US, I never had any problem with my orders. And in fact, I have always done my orders with two friends of mine, one with very straight volumeless hair and one with African hair. It's worth adding that the shampoo bars are categorized: in case of dry hair ,in case of greasy hair, in case of dandruff, in case of brittle hair or in case of volumeless hair. My two friends have been able to find their happiness and it is also my case with my wavy / curly hair. The shampoo bars last very long, I would say the equivalent of four bottles of shampoo and cost on average 7$ . If the prices are too high for your budget I've seen that there were shampoo bars for sale on Amazon and on eBay, but I can't tell you more about it because I've never tested them! I think I looked at the question from all sides... If you're like me you've probably already fallen for the website's design, I let you rummage through the website. Lies, lies, lies, lies everywhere! “You hair will be bring back to life, cared, shiny, glossy and soft” they told you. But take a look at the back of all these products and notice these words that end with « thicone », « thiconol », « siloxane » or « silane ». Well, those ingredients are often (even always) used in hair care products are called “silicone”. This silicone that are shown to you as beneficial, even as divine product , in fact wraps your hair and therefore suffocates it. Your natural care products can't penetrate the hair anymore. The silicone acts like an illusion, a “cover-up” as your hair is dying under the silicone. So don’t be fooled by all those advertisements! I mean.. Silicone is a kind of plastic, like the product used to block up the windows! (And surprise, surprise, would you believe; it is also called « silicone » ). Moreover, your hair can take up to a month to get rid of all these chemicals. So, here are all the cons of silicones. But we can’t say that is doesn’t coat the hair, so how replace it? Well, I have the natural solution! All the pros, without the cons are gathered in a natural product called the "silicon vegetal". This product is buyable on Aromazone but I find it quite expensive.
So here is the DIY of the day : Aromazone, sell also a product called "Gomme Carraghénane, and with this product you can create the "silicon vegetal". Put a little tablespoon of this powder on a glass of hot water, add a pinch of salt . Wait until it cools down, and here we are! This products makes your hair soft , shiny, stronger. It does not grease the hair, it can also be used to protect the hair before straightening it... Now say hello to your new best friend !

MY HAIR ROUTINE ; NO-POO

HAIR SECRETS

How do I proceed? So, as I said in the last article, this hair routine fits your hair type, so what fits me will not necessarily be the best for you. Thanks to the No-poo-Do, I can now shampoo my hair once a week, without having dirty or greasy air, it remains beautiful and healthy. Here's how I do it. Firslty, I detangle hair with a wide tooth comb, and this by taking small section of hair, combing from bottom to top, until combing the entire length of the hair. This prevents the accumulation of nodes in the hair and thus the breakage of this latter. It is important not to wait until they are wet for combed, because contrary to what one might think, this is when they are most vulnerable to breakage. Then I put my head down (as pictured above) and I began to wash my roots with my shampoo bar (which I will introduce you in a future article), the lather flows on my lenght. Then, I rinse everything in cold water because it makes the hair shiny,as it closes the scale of the hair. Finally, be aware that the result can depends on the hardness of your water; it is eventually useful to put a few tablespoons of vinegar on a cup of water to rinse your hair to let it appears even brighter. Here is how to recover healthy hair; now you are done with all these expensive conditioner because your hair will never dry again because of sulfates or repetitions washes.
